Calgary Exhibition and Stampede
KADG were engaged in 1999 and in 2006 to complete an overall environmental graphic design and branding program for the entire Calgary Exhibition and Stampede site. It is currently undergoing a comprehensive $500 million park development. The 97 hectare site will be transformed into a year-round destination, capable of hosting conventions, festivals, cultural celebrations and the famous Calgary Stampede, which draws 1.4 million visitors each year. Extensive internal/external research was undertaken to determine a common year round brand, (combined) one, which would serve the Ten Day Stampede and the Calgary Stampede equally well. The historic CS brand was retained along with the colour red and a refined new script was developed to create the new Calgary Stampede brand. KADG is proud to have been a partner in design since 1999, collaborating with the planning team, architects and landscape professionals, to bring world-class identity, signage and environmental graphic design to the new permanent site and the Calgary Stampede Ten Day Stampede.
